Sir Alex, the Olympics and 2 packs of gum for 1.20.

I have been censured by the boss. He said I am not allowed to write about football any more. Gave me a right dressing down he did, the hairdryer treatment I believe it's referred to among the football fraternity. Apparently its Sir Alex Ferguson's favourite thing to do when he's not chewing 4 packs of Airwaves (now selling at 2 for 1.20 in Applegreens Better Value Always deal). Basically the boss gave me a piece of his mind, even though I hadn't sought his opinion.
Now I'm no shrinking violet, but when he threatened to remove my Applegreen Rewards card, I bit my lip, held my peace and stared intently at the floor. To say I was disappointed would be a serious understatement. In fact I would have to say I haven't been so disappointed since I missed the last Applegreen Motorway Stations' Family Fun day. (Next one on August 25th ).
There is one thing though. You may have noticed our 5 ring Olympic logo on the Applegreen home page. The Olympics start this week. I will be as good as my word. There is absolutely no way I am going to write about the olympic football competition, but he never mentioned athletics.
Swimming, diving, pole vault, hurdles, marathon, javelin, relay, you name it I'm allowed to write about it. Just not football.  It seems if I write about football I'm for the high jump.
