Horse heads for Scotland.
No matter what your stand on public money being used to fund public art pieces, the Kelpies make a pretty amazing sight as they tower above the Helix in Falkirk, Scotland. Some amazing pictures have been taken of the two horses heads which by the way are not (as one wag remarked) commemorating the anniversary of the making of "The Godfather" but rather paying tribute to the heavy Clydesdale horses used in foundries, fields, farms, breweries to pull all manner of heavy loads and used also on canals to pull barges. Falkirk was also reputedly home to the worlds biggest horse in the 1930's. No matter what your feelings on the cost of the project (five million euro) I think you will agree the result is pretty impressive. You don't have to go to Falkirk to befriend the equine monsters either and all reports indicate they are extremely likeable.
