There's a lot to love about Tesla's decision to forego patent protection. It will speed up the arrival of the electric car on our roads and makes perfect long-term sense.
It's also another savvy company realizing that evolving, open, creativity beats any attempt to legally protect knowledge that, in this age of transparency increasingly has the lifespan of a fruit fly.
