Happy 21st Birthday to Petrogas people everywhere!

I must admit that it's a while since I was invited to a 21st birthday party. I'd be a liar if I told you I remember the last one I was at. In fact I would be lying if I told you I remembered any 21st birthday party I was ever at.

That is of course before last Sunday, when I attended the Petrogas 21st birthday party for staff, immediate family, suppliers and service providers which took place at the super Applegreen Motorway Service Area on the M1.

Well, what a turnout. Petrogas people from the four corners of the island and the UK ( I even spotted a Berliner ) came together for a fabulous fun day which had something for everyone.
It was a great occasion marked by its simplicity and bonhomie. While the irreverent and wildly popular Jack Flash entertained the kiddies, the grown ups greeted, hugged and chatted to fellow Petrogas people and friends and enjoyed the sunshine.
Magician Jack Flash really got the kids going with some irreverent hilarious gags...

In a world where stations are open 24/7 it's not easy for everyone to get together so people made the most of the opportunity.  The thirsty and hungry were well catered for. There was succulent pig on a spit with all the trimmings, the best coffee on the road courtesy of the Lavazza mobile cafe, creamy pints from the Applegreen Marketing Bar and even trademarked Petrogas cupcakes for the sweet toothed .
The weather although a little windy was beautiful with sunshine the whole day. It would be hard to see how it could have been any better and a huge thank you is due to Olwyn Horan, Head of Marketing and her supergirls Lorraine and Emma who not only organized the whole event but also tended bar to boot and all with a big smile and contagious good humour. Don't take my word for this check out the pictures below... and there are lot's more to come.
By 11.30 the place was starting to buzz...

Very happy with the turnout . Petrogas CEO Bob Etchingham and Director Joe Barrett with daughter Amy.

Handicaps aplenty on the crazy golf course...

Olwyn Horan (Head of Marketing) takes a well earned muffin break with Petrogas man Eugene Moore and daughter

Claire Doyle ( left ) from Petrogas Food with niece and nephew, really enjoying the party

MichaelO'Loughlin (Head of Petrogas UK)  is never short of a good joke to share...
