Not for you the same old Christmas rush in Grafton or Henry street competing with equally flush shoppers. Oh no, you're jetting off to New York to take advantage of the weak dollar.

Football sometimes echoes life. Here we are Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales or rather, I should say, there we will be, watching our European neighbours taking part in Europe's premier football event, without us.
I began to ask myself ( I work alone in the complaints department )... are we really European at all. Do we learn anything from Europe or are we islands off the coast of America. Should we maybe play in the American league?
There's so little to do here in the complaints department I have a lot of time to think about these things.. It's hard to stay focused.
I need a manager.
Christmas creeps, and just when I least expect it, looms like a great inevitable occasion before me. Suddenly there's a change of season. After months of bland weather when real seasons stumble from one into the other with no apparent difference, I look out the complaints department window and notice the trees are naked.
