What must you have, that you rarely use, and it costs a fortune?

I decided to buy a Smart. After my bicycle disaster I felt strangely vulnerable. My father always told me I had two left feet so it is eminently possible that I was never meant to cycle. For a brief moment I considered buying one of those half car/ half bike thingys favoured by Pat Kenny. Now I have to admit I really like Pat. I have always felt that he is by far the most informed and intelligent of those radio presenters that hold the country's attention at any given moment of the day, and he doesn't do easy rides for his guests. Pat's not afraid to ask the combative question. Personally I think he's worth every penny they pay him. Why does he choose a motorbike with a roof and no sides as his preferred mode of transport? Give me a small car any day.

There is one wonderful thing about riding a bicycle. It's not having to waste money on the single most money sucking thing ever invented by man ...insurance.  Think about it, we have to have it, we rarely use it and it costs a fortune. Imagine my delight then when I heard that Applegreen were launching a brand new cheap insurance offer in association with Chill.ie.  I need insurance for the Smart.

So here's the deal. I am going to apply for an insurance quote for my Smart. I will let you know how I get on. As you all well know I am employed in the Applegreen complaints department. If any of you take up on  the Applegreen insurance offer, or even just look for a quote, I want to know how you got on. The boss says customers are king and we have to listen to what the king says. So whether it's positive or (hopefully not) negative, please let me know. I can take it.
